The National Marine Park of Alonissos and Northern Sporades, widely known as the largest marine park in Europe, hosts tremendous marine biodiversity and a great number of shipwrecks, the silent but unquestionable witnesses of the age-old Aegean civilization.

Biking

Skopelos…. a magical Island, the ideal island to explore by bike!

Cycle freely on the island and enter the first alley you will find in front of you – a surprise is waiting for you to explore! In Skopelos everything is inviting: a magical landscape, one of the hundreds of beautiful churches, a little water fountain to cool off, a magical corner to enjoy the sun, the sea, the forest and beautiful views to Skiathos or Alonisso.Take your Gravel or Mountain Bike, if you want to step on the dirt tracks.

Hiking

The entire island is a giant canvas waiting for you to paint it with your “steps” and create a unique piece of art.

Most of the hiking trails on Skopelos Island have trail signs and kiosks, with varying distances spanning dozens of kilometers. The introduction of a signage project to enhance access to 100-kilometer hiking trails is expected to begin soon. Several sections of these paths are already in operation. Hiking routes have mixed terrain for all skill levels and are in different parts of Skopelos, where hikers can marvel at the island’s cultural and natural resources

Fishing

Horse Riding

Here in the area around the monasteries where there is unlimited space for horse riding, you ride through the quietness of the nature. We ride active through the olive groves and hills, ride through the forest till the Iera Moni Sotiros. Every day we set out on a new track, with our beautiful horses.

Jorgina, Julia and Jenny, the three female horses were born and raised in Skopelos by the Chasiotis family, who trains horses for decades. This stationary riding holiday is suitable for everyone!

Visiting Monasteries

Skopelos Island is one of the few places in the world where churches, chapels, and monasteries blend with nature and the unique identity of the villages to create a living piece of art. In Skopelos Chora alone, dozens of churches and chapels “live” alongside the locals while another five monasteries located in the town’s surrounding area are there to “keep it company”. There are hundreds of churches and nine monasteries of the post-Byzantine era scattered across the island, with their own story to “tell”. A significant number of them have impressive iconostases, dating back centuries.
